Found the Trac Wiki explanation for inserting HTML here.
This is especially useful as we stumbled onto the advantage of video-taping whiteboard explanations at the end of brainstorming sessions.

Trac supports inserting HTML into any wiki context, accomplished using the HTML WikiProcessor.

HTML support is built-in, and does not require installing any additional packages.

How to Use HTML

To inform the wiki engine that a block of text should be treated as HTML, use the html processor.

Note that Trac sanitizes your HTML code before displaying it. That means that if you try to use potentially dangerous constructs such as Javascript event handlers, those will be removed from the output.

A Grid System – a long term infrastructural investment

An interesting set of details converged today, as the implementation of Drupal and its base theme and template lead to a dialogue on best practices with universal (site-wide) grids. Specifically, having 12 or 16 columns instead of 3 or 4, to create flexibility in layout.

Our final decision is in the works, pivoting mostly around having either 10 or 4 pixels for the margins. We never would have considered fewer than 10, but there’s a very attractive option with 4px margins. We’ll know by tomorrow.

The choice (aka, math) isn’t as easy as it sounds if you start out thinking you know what you want your page width to be. Try it with this grid system calculator.

Inserting Images in Trac

I was excited to find the “insert image” functionality on the Trac Wiki formatting page tonight. I think some of you might be interested:

Images ¶

Urls ending with .png, .gif or .jpg are no longer automatically interpreted as image links, and converted to tags.

You now have to use the [[Image]] macro. The simplest way to include an image is to upload it as attachment to the current page, and put the filename in a macro call like [[Image(picture.gif)]].

In addition to the current page, it is possible to refer to other resources:

[[Image(wiki:WikiFormatting:picture.gif)]] (referring to attachment on another page)
[[Image(ticket:1:picture.gif)]] (file attached to a ticket)
[[Image(htdocs:picture.gif)]] (referring to a file inside project htdocs)
[[Image(source:/trunk/trac/htdocs/trac_logo_mini.png)]] (a file in repository)
